St. Andrew's Chapel

St. Andrew's chapel is a beautiful and historic chapel located in Sudlersville, MD. St. Andrews Chapel, is one of the finest examples of the 19th century Carpenter Gothic style in existence today.
This architectural gem was built in 1880 from a plan book by Richard Upjohn, America's foremost architect of the mid nineteenth century and co-founder of the American Institute of Architects.

In church architecture Upjohn, a staunch Anglican, used the Gothic style exclusively for Episcopal churches like St. Andrews. Its distinctive board and batten exterior, steep rooflines, gothic windows and bright red door make it one of the most charming places of worship on the Eastern Shore.

How to get there: Sudlersville is located just 4 miles east of the intersection of highways 301 and 300. Simply take highway 301 till you meet up with 300 and go east until you enter Sudlersville. Make a right at the intersection of highways 300 and highway 313 and go 200 yards. St. Andrew's chapel is on the left.
