St. Andrew's Chapel
St. Andrew's chapel is a beautiful and historic chapel located in Sudlersville, MD. St. Andrews Chapel is one of the finest examples of the 19th century Carpenter Gothic style in existence today. This architectural gem was built in 1880 from a plan book by Richard Upjohn, America's foremost architect of the mid nineteenth century and co-founder of the American Institute of Architects. In church architecture Upjohn, a staunch Anglican, used the Gothic style exclusively for Episcopal churches like St. Andrews. Its distinctive board and batten exterior, steep rooflines, gothic windows and bright red door make it one of the most charming places of worship on the Eastern Shore.
